Mar 12, 2025
In the never ending quest for healthy and satisfying snacks, we've discovered a weekly gem – homemade gelatine gummies! Not only do they make a great addition to the lunchbox, but they also bring a boost of protein and support to our little one's connective tissues.
Ingredients:
-
200g frozen fruit
-
3 tablespoons grass-fed gelatine
-
1 cup of filtered water
Stovetop Method:
-
Add the frozen fruit and water to a saucepan, allowing it to simmer over medium heat.
-
Turn off the heat and gently incorporate the gelatine into the mixture.
-
Use a blender or stick mixer to blend the concoction on high for 30-40 seconds.
-
Transfer the mixture into moulds, letting it sit on the counter for approximately 20 minutes or until it starts to set (this step helps to prevent any accidental spills).
-
Pop the moulds into the fridge for an additional 30 minutes to ensure a firm setting.
-
Once set, carefully remove the gummies from the moulds and store them in an airtight container. They'll stay fresh for up to one week.
Thermomix Method:
-
Cooking the fruit and water for 2 minutes at varoma/speed 1.
-
Introduce the gelatine, ensuring it stays clear of the blades.
-
Blend for 40 seconds at speed 6.
-
Transfer the mixture into moulds, allowing it to rest on the counter for about 20 minutes or until it commences setting (no spills here, too!).
-
Pop the moulds into the fridge for an additional 30 minutes.
-
Once fully set, remove the gummies from the moulds and stow them away in an airtight container. They'll keep their freshness for an entire week.
With this recipe, you've crafted a batch of gelatine gummies that not only please the taste buds but also nourish the body. Try adding them to school lunchboxes or offer as an afterschool snack!
